USAI hosted an intimate luncheon discussion for congressional staff with Hitoshi Tanaka, former Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan and key advisor to Prime Minister Koizumi who is currently one of Japan’s leading public intellectuals regarding foreign policy. Mr. Tanaka was joined by Dr. Mike Mochizuki, Japan-U.S. Relations Chair at the George Washington University, in order to foster a candid and open discussion with congressional staff and to exchange views on policy discourse in both Asia and the U.S.
