US-Asia Institute Trustee Chris Fenton writes about the interplay between US-China Relations and Hollywood.

This article, a commentary on Fenton's new book “Feeding the Dragon”, discusses film diplomacy between the United States and China, and the bottom-line realities of show business and professional sports today. "Feeding the Dragon" comes out in bookstores Summer of 2020.

Her Excellency Battsetseg Shagdar, a member of the US-Asia Institute's Global Leadership Board, recently presented her credence to the President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel. She was recently named as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Cuba.

On June 28, former USAI Political Affairs Program Assistant James Llewellyn presented Y.T.B. Ambassador Mahendra Siregar and Consul General Rosmalawati Chalid with commemorative poster.

With the Institute turning 40 this year, I could not think of a more important time for the Institute to play the role it has historically in helping advance positive relations between the U.S. and China. I hope to be able to play at least a small role in these efforts in my capacity as a Trustee of the Institute.

This year, from May 19 to June 1, six law students from across the United States participated in USAI’s fourth annual China program. During the two weeks, the fellows and I traveled through Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Beijing, and Shanghai.

The American Bar Association Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division will honor Glenn Lau-Kee with its 2019 Solo and Small Firm Lifetime Achievement Award.

Apr. 22, 2019 - Mr. Nien Su has joined the US-Asia Institute’s Board of Trustees. He has worked with USAI for a number of years and is currently a member of the Congressional Circle. Mr. Su was appointed to the Board by a unanimous vote.

Sep. 27, 2018 - Susan Radov, USAI Summer 2018 Program Assistant and senior at the University of Pennsylvania, was recently published in the Baltimore Sun newspaper.

Aug. 6, 2018 - Doris Xu, USAI Summer 2018 Program Assistant and senior at George Washington University, was recently named the President of Global China Connection (GCC) for the 2018-2019 academic year. Doris is the first female GCC President in the organization’s ten-year history.
